Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Completion of education equivalent to Australian Year 12 is mandatory.

Yes. Applicants participate in a course entry interview and a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital assessment. Entry requires ACSF level 3 in reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication.

An IELTS score of 6 or an accepted equivalent is required, with results no more than two years old. The booklet also accepts verified equivalent PTE or TOEFL results, five years of education in an English-speaking country, at least six months of Certificate IV study at an Australian RTO, or successful completion of an English Placement Test.

The booklet requires studies completed in the applicant's home country that are equivalent to Australian Year 12, or a qualification taught in English for at least 12 months. For Certificate III courses, completion of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is also listed as meeting this requirement.

Applicants should disclose medical conditions that may be contraindicated with course requirements. The booklet states that students will be asked for a GP certificate of fitness clearing them to participate in classes.
