Entry requirement

Age and education

Applicants must meet both baseline requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have completed education equivalent to Australian Year 12

Entry requirement

Course entry interview and LLND assessment

The entry process helps assess course suitability and identify individual student needs.

  • Participate in a course entry interview
  • Complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital assessment
  • Achieve ACSF level 3 in reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication

Entry requirement

English language proficiency

Applicants must demonstrate an appropriate English language level.

  • IELTS score of 6 or an accepted equivalent
  • Test results must be no more than two years old
  • Equivalent PTE or TOEFL results may be accepted subject to verification

Entry requirement

Academic requirement

Applicants must meet one of the academic pathways listed in the booklet:

  • Satisfactory completion of studies in the applicant's home country equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification
  • Successful completion of a qualification taught in English with a course duration of at least 12 months
  • For Certificate III courses only, completion of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement

Entry requirement

Health and course participation

Applicants should disclose conditions that may be contraindicated with course requirements.

  • Disclose any medical conditions that may affect participation in the course
  • Provide a certificate of fitness from a GP clearing you to participate in classes
Other English pathways

Alternative evidence may also be considered.

Applicants may demonstrate English competence through documented education in an English-speaking country, eligible prior Australian study, or successful completion of an English Placement Test.
